CASINO CONFIDENTIAL, ATLANTIC CITY"If you haven’t had a good case of Goosebumps lately, check out this consummate entertainer." FLORIDA STAGE & SCREEN NEWSGRIGWARE TALKS THEATRE - by Don Grigware“...The dynamic appeal that is associated with great stars...By far one of the best [shows] I have ever seen! Tall and attractive and hailing from a small town in Northern England, Morrell tells us through song of her “American Dream” ...being hooked on American films, and how ultimately the ladies of the silver screen were responsible for her journeying to the USA. Morrell “Razzle Dazzles” in her repertoire with salutes to Edith Piaf, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Liza Minnelli, the Mama Roses of Gypsy: Ethel Merman, Roz Russell, Angela Lansbury, Tyne Daly and Bette Midler, and a complete set to the one and only Judy Garland. Toni Morrell is truly hypnotic but let’s get one thing straight. She is not an impersonator; she just happens to salute these ladies by doing their songs. What is a Toni Morrell then? She is a unique performer who has the uncanny strength, talent and personality to make it big based on who she is all by herself. (“I Am What I Am”) She devotes one section of her show to her beloved mother who passed away in 1994 and who taught her “Being Who You Are Is Enough.” Right On! ...Musical Director David Dial is also her husband and his immense talent accompanies Morrell...” TOLUCAN TIMES - by Pat TaylorThis show is a sassy, sizzling, sensational theatrical achievement and a must see... Written by the multi-talented, charismatic Toni Morrell, it is an autobiographical journey through her madcap life in show biz, from England to New York and Hollywood. Her personal joys, let-downs and triumphs are shared through funny and touching stories and dynamic song performances. A “fab” singer oozing with sensuality, energy and a wicked British wit, Toni is an amazing entertainer! Weaving her magic with her onstage musical director (and hubby), David Dial, she will grab your attention, earn your respect, and win your heart. If you could toss the unique talents of Garland, Minnelli, Lucy, Carol Burnett, and a pinch of Dame Edna into a blender…you’d end up with a delightful serving of Toni Morrell. This is a fun-filled, awe-inspiring night of theatre. GLOBE WEEKLY NEWS - INTERNATIONAL EDITION by Maximillien de LafayetteWho is the ultimate star of a one-woman show in the business today? TONI MORRELL! Period. Few will sparkle brighter than all the lights and billboards of Las Vegas, and few seasoned artists will mesmerize us with a human warmth and an honest reflection on our lives rather [more] than this glitzy and bursting stage extravaganza! And Toni Morrell is one of those very rare super duper world-class artists. She has the voice, the stage presence, the depth and the aura of an intelligent femme fatale….But all these ingredients are a minimal part of the immense and captivating talent of diva Toni Morrell. This woman makes you think, dream and challenge all the odds. Yet, and despite her glamorous stage presence, Toni Morrell radiates romance and human warmth. She does not imitate the legends and icons, even though she is so fond of them and magically blends with their psyche, their era and legacy. It is evident Ms. Morrell adores Shirley Bassey. You can sense it in her personal interpretation of “This Is My life.” But if you listen to Morrell's "This Is The Moment" you will realize that Morrell is as good as Dame Bassey. Another song of Ms. Morrell is out of this world "And I In My Chair". Upon listening to that song, I was transported to the poetic world of Charles Aznavour and the laisser aller attitude of Frank Sinatra. Ms. Morrell is a national treasure. Don't ever miss her show! Toni Morrell's "My British-American Dream" is America's best one-woman-show. Rating: 5 stars. SAN GABRIEL VALLEY EXAMINER - by Kelley VanceThis one-woman show written by the talented star, takes us on a whirlwind journey that is her life. In less than two hours the audience is transported from England to New York, and finally to California, with a slight layover in Las Vegas. My British-American Dream…”What The Hell Was I Thinking?” makes for a wild and exciting ride. With a powerful voice… a matter-of-fact sense of humor, one quickly becomes mesmerized with the star of the show. Her talents range from singing to dancing to wonderfully delightful impersonations. With barely a blink of an eye a joyful and humorous scene can become a sober and sobering moment. The change in the audiences’ demeanor is entrancing as they go from outrageous laughter to dead silence. There are only a few actresses/actors who possess that range and depth of talent, and Toni Morrell can be counted in their midst. It’s difficult to put Toni Morrell in a specific category. She is neither just a singer, nor is she just a dancer, nor is she just a comedienne. Rather, she is all three combined. She is a diversified performer. Her talent for song and dance is apparent from the beginning, but her knack for physical comedy strikes like lightning! I won’t say much, but her scene as the harried temp is pure magic, and it is a performance that would make the great Lucille Ball give praise….David Dial, the Musical Director (and her husband) is a constant delight…Mr. Dial is the talent responsible for the music, sound effects and various off-stage voices. With the combined efforts of Toni Morrell and David Dial, the audience is treated to two hours of pure onstage magic.
